Ingham County Adolescent Diversion Project

Description:

MSU undergraduate students are working in cooperation with Ingham County to provide quality, individual services to youth and their families. The Ingham County Adolescent Diversion Program works with youth who have been referred by the Ingham County Probate Court, to provide them with services tailored to their needs, and to help them avoid further involvement with the juvenile justice system. The undergraduate volunteers, who are trained in specific intervention techniques, work one-on-one with the youth six to eight hours a week for 18 weeks to help them gain skills in many areas, including family relationships, school issues, employment, and free-time activities.

Location:

The program takes place in the youth family's home and neighborhood.

Youth workers; Social workers; Families with youth in the juvenile justice system.
