    Description:

    This annual summer institute is a professional development experience comprised of two-day, one-day, and half-day intensive courses on a variety of current topics taught by experts in their fields. Earn as many as 18 social work continuing education credits in such topics as: Play Therapy; Supporting Adoptive Families; Ethics in Child Welfare; Motivational Interviewing; Emotional Resilience; Theoretical Models for Affair Recovery;  the DSM 5; Strength-Based Leadership; Ethical Dilemmas in End of Life Care; and more.

    Description:

    If you are interested in reducing the turnover rate of staff you supervise you will want to join us for this experiential workshop that focuses on what you can do to retain your staff. This workshop will give you tips and tools to use with your staff as well as ideas that you can employ to strengthen your skills. The emphasis will be on strategies to retain staff during the first year of employment, which studies indicate is when most staff make the decision to leave an agency. By learning about the developmental phases of new staff in the first six months of employment you will learn how to manage changing emotional and confidence levels of new staff and inspire commitment to the agency mission and vision.
