    Description:

    The MSUE - Tollgate Education Conference Center functions as a full service meeting facility ideal for the business and educational community. Situated on a beautiful 160 acre farm, the gardens and pastures at Tollgate provide a natural and peaceful setting for business meetings, receptions, retreats, conferences, workshops and educational classes. The Center includes the Tollgate Conference room which accommodates up to 140 people; the Activity Center, a more casual setting accommodates up to 60 people; the Americana Boardroom, an executive-style formal meeting room for 12 or less; and the Bassett Boardroom for 10 people. Tollgate’s main site feature is the historic Tollgate Barn which is available for rental for various functions offering it’s unique charm and atmosphere.

  • Upper Peninsula Research and Extension Center (Chatham, MI)

    Description:

    The Upper Peninsula Research Center is the hub of beef cattle research for northern Michigan. Applied research on alternative beef cattle management practices are conducted in the unique environment of the Upper Peninsula. Low-stress weaning methods, extended grazing season options, control of infectious disease, and traceability are being studied to reduce input costs or produce greater value for beef producers. Complementary agronomic studies at the 1,262-acre site focus on forages, corn, small grains and oilseed crops for alternative energy. The center also coordinates numerous field trials of biomass grasses, potato varieties and corn varieties throughout the Upper Peninsula region.

The Dr. Elwood and Linda Collins Rehab Center team focuses on the whole patient while providing personalized care and consideration to any injury, illness or objective. The team of veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians understand pain management and condition maintenance through their wealth of experience and advanced training. They work with clients and their primary veterinarian to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that will be explained thoroughly before any therapy is initiated.

    MSU's Veterinary Teaching Hospital accepts challenging cases from veterinary practitioners in Michigan, neighboring states, and Canada, and in general acts as a referral center. Housing the small and large animal hospitals, the Vet hospital is staffed with faculty specialists in different fields of medicine. Well known for having one of the largest caseloads in the nation, the Veterinary Teaching Hospital has undergone extensive renovation to make it one of the most modern patient care facilities in the country.     Description:

    MSU's Kellogg Biological Station (KBS) is one of North America's premier inland field stations. Located between Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, KBS is known for its contributions to ecological science and evolutionary biology. KBS's mission is to develop programs in research, education, and extension directed toward a comprehensive understanding of natural and managed ecosystems and the conservation of natural resources. KBS is a field site for ecological research not only because of its excellent facilities but also because of the exceptional diversity of field research sites that are readily accessible from the station. Much of the habitat and species diversity that characterize the upper Midwest can be found in the local area. KBS provides educational tours of the Manor House, Bird Sanctuary and Kellogg Farm, as well as many events and workshops for K-12 educators, students, and the general public.
