    Description:

    The Matilda R. Wilson Pegasus Critical Care Center is a 9,000-square-foot facility that allows the Veterinary Teaching Hospital to house large-animal patients with infectious diseases in an isolated place, minimizing the risk of spreading disease to other animals and people while providing state-of-the-art critical care.  The center includes a number of special features, including ten individual isolation stalls, on-site laboratory capability, and a specialized ventilation system that helps prevent the spread of infectious diseases. There is also video equipment that allows clients to see their animals without entering the isolation stall.

    Rehabilitation aids in the healing and mobility of pets and athletes through individualized treatment plans. The Dr. Elwood and Linda Collins Rehab Center team focuses on the whole patient while providing personalized care and consideration to any injury, illness or objective. The team of veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians understand pain management and condition maintenance through their wealth of experience and advanced training. They work with clients and their primary veterinarian to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that will be explained thoroughly before any therapy is initiated.

    MSU's Veterinary Teaching Hospital accepts challenging cases from veterinary practitioners in Michigan, neighboring states, and Canada, and in general acts as a referral center. Housing the small and large animal hospitals, the Vet hospital is staffed with faculty specialists in different fields of medicine. Well known for having one of the largest caseloads in the nation, the Veterinary Teaching Hospital has undergone extensive renovation to make it one of the most modern patient care facilities in the country.
