    Description:

    The IPU Advanced Regulatory Studies Program is a series of specialized half-day and all-day workshops designed to provide public- and private-sector regulatory professionals a unique opportunity to interact and exchange ideas on advanced technical, methodological, and policy issues. Each workshop provides a unique and intensive immersion experience, emphasizing both discipline-based and sector-specific learning opportunities, interactive instruction and peer-to-peer dialog, advanced analytical methodologies, and theoretical rigor coupled with practical hands-on problems and exercises. Topical areas cover: Ratemaking, Accounting and Finance, Economics and Evaluation, and Management.

  • MSU Income Tax School: Fall Two-Day Federal Income Tax Sessions (November, December 2017)

    Description:

    Taught at the intermediate level as a live seminar with a group. Prior knowledge and experience in completing tax forms is expected/required. Two-day Seminars, 16 hours CPE/CE credit (8:25 a.m. to 4:35 p.m.), refer to the schedule below. Includes 3 hours of Federal update, 11 hours of Federal taxation and 2 hours of ethics. Materials include 2017 Federal Income Tax Workbook, 2018 CCH Master Tax Guide and 2017 Michigan Department of Treasury Tax Text.

  • MSU Income Tax School: Final Changes Seminar (Tax School Update) (January 2018)

    Description:

    Taught at the intermediate level as a live seminar with a group. This program will cover both state and federal information emphasizing federal changes and clarifications since the fall seminars.

    Prior knowledge and experience in completing tax forms is expected/required. It is not considered a substitute for the fall two-day programs but a supplement to it.

    Continuing education hours are offered.

  • Onsite Training for Labor Unions: Basic Economics Workshop

    Description:

    Michigan State University's Labor Employment & Workplace Education (LEWE), as part of the School of Human Resources and Labor Relations, brings together University faculty and Union leadership to provide education and training for union leaders and members.  LEWE staff offers workshops on site at your workplace.  Basic Economics covers: Globalization, trade, privatization/outsourcing, taxes/role of government; inequality; industry analysis. Length of program is up to 40 hours. The program may be customized based on industry.
