    Description:

    The Center for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement promotes active learning and outreach, focused on civic engagement, in which students serve with non-profit organizations, health and human service agencies, and educational, governmental and other publicly funded institutions to help meet needs and/or address issues that have been identified by the communities in which the students are involved. Structurally, service-learning and civic engagement at MSU support curricular and co-curricular service-learning, interdisciplinary and cross-unit collaborations related to service, and service-learning in pre-college programs. Over 300 local, national, and international community partners list more than 900 placement opportunities with the Center.

  • Community Evaluation and Research Collaborative (CERC)

    Description:

    CERC acts as a hub for program evaluation activity across Michigan State University and provides training in evaluation and community-based participatory research, and conducts formative (planning) and summative (outcome) evaluations. Across local, state, and national arenas, CERC partners with nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, government, health organizations, foundations, and other universities.

    Description:

    The Community Resources Directory is intended to provide information on local businesses, as well as campus and community organizations that assist and serve the diverse members of the Michigan State University community. It includes a database with compiled links to web sites, searchable by keywords and diversity characteristics. Subject areas cover a broad range of categories, such as health, children, families, eldercare, housing, safety, cultural events, disability, education, recreation, entertainment, religion, food, transportation, and travel.

    The MSU Surplus Store and Recycling Center is rethinking the way the MSU Community disposes of its unused materials – including our own take on REDUCE, REUSE & RECYCLE.  The surplus store sells items in the following categories: Art, Antiques and Collectibles; Audio/Visual; Bicycles; Bid Items; Books; Computers; Farm & Garden; Furniture; Household and Home Decor; Industrial and Manufacturing; Kitchen and Restaurant; Laboratory; Land/Property; Media; Office; Printer & Copier Supplies; Recycling Containers; Sporting Goods and Clothing; Vehicles & Trailers.
