The goal of the Great Lakes Leadership Academy (GLLA) is to promote positive change, economic vitality and resource conservation, and to enhance quality of life in Michigan by encouraging leadership for the common good. Key sustainability issues are addressed, such as: land use, water quality, rural vitality, rural and urban interactions, siting of livestock and manufacturing facilities, and the competing interests of recreation, manufacturing, food production and quality of life.
As part of our program, we have planned a dinner and panel discussion for local leaders that
have been working to improve the quality of life for citizens in the greater Detroit area. We are
hopeful that this event will provide an opportunity to learn about the great work happening in
Detroit, particularly the difference that partnerships and collaborations have made in impacting
the community for the common good.
We cordially invite you to dinner on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 5:30 pm to be held at the Michigan State University Detroit Center.
