  • Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable, Farm Market, and Greenhouse Growers Expo (December 2018)

    Description:

    The Expo is one of the premier trade shows of its kind. There are over 450 exhibitors with displays of everything needed to grow, harvest, and pack fruit and vegetables, as well as an area featuring companies with products and services for farm marketers. Over three days, the program includes 70+ sessions on fruit crops, vegetable crops, other specialty crops, greenhouse crop production and marketing, farm marketing ideas and operations, farmers’ markets and organic production and marketing. There will also be sessions covering a diversity of general interest topics, including food safety and labor.

    Presentations will be made by researchers and Extension educators from Michigan State University, other Land Grant universities and industry. Many of the education sessions will offer credits for Michigan and Ohio Private and Commercial Pesticide Applicators and Certified Crop Advisors.

  • Hidden Lakes Gardens (Tipton, MI)

    Description:

    MSU's Hidden Lake Gardens is Michigan's best kept secret! It covers 755 acres of meadows and oak-hickory woodlands filled with an abundance of native flora and fauna. The Gardens are open 362 days of the year with an admission fee of $3 per person. Self-guided tours are a great way to see the Gardens at your own pace and to suit your personal interest. Guided tours, requested at least two weeks in advance, are available at no additional charge. In addition to more than 6 miles of one-way paved drives, there are 5 miles of hiking trails to allow the visitor a closer look at the beauty that the Gardens provide.

  • Michigan Greenhouse Growers Expo - Annual Conference and Trade Show (December 2017)

    Description:

    The Michigan Greenhouse Growers Expo, in coordination with the Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable, and Farm Market Expo, offers educational sessions and workshops covering topics such as: fruit and vegetable commodities; greenhouse production and marketing; farm marketing ideas and issues; and special interest topics for growers. The Expo also offers tours to area greenhouses and gardens.  The trade show has more than 380 exhibitors covering 4 acres of exhibit space.

  • W. J. Beal Botanical Gardens (MSU's Campus, East Lansing, MI)

    Located on MSU's Campus in East Lansing, MI.

    Description:

    MSU's W. J. Beal Botanical Gardens is a unique display of more than 5,000 different kinds of plants that can be found on a five-acre on-campus site. Although the Gardens serve as an outdoor laboratory for students, the general public is warmly invited to make use of the garden to learn about and enjoy plants in a beautiful setting. The Gardens are open at all times throughout the year without an admission charge, serving as a wonderful experience for children who are encouraged to come, learn, and enjoy.

    Description:

    The historic Kellogg Manor House, a beautiful example of Tudor Revival architecture, represents an important and fascinating time in Michigan's history. The Manor House offers field trips, tours, programs, and public events throughout the year.
