    Description:

    MSU's Departments of Kinesiology and Epidemiology have collaborated to form the Center for Physical Activity and Health (CPAH). By studying the effect of physical activity on human health and well-being throughout the lifespan, the CPAH will be able to impact the lives of Michigan and US citizens by offering appropriate physical activity intervention strategies. The CPAH will partner with many organizations including other academic units on and off campus, businesses, industries, philanthropic organizations, and governmental and public health organizations in order to understand and implement physical activity research, policies, and behavior as it relates to chronic disease prevention, a better quality of life, and overall health outcomes.

  • Great Lakes Summer Institute in Social Work (July 2017)

    Description:

    This annual summer institute is a professional development experience comprised of two-day, one-day, and half-day intensive courses on a variety of current topics taught by experts in their fields. Earn as many as 18 social work continuing education credits in such topics as: Play Therapy; Supporting Adoptive Families; Ethics in Child Welfare; Motivational Interviewing; Emotional Resilience; Theoretical Models for Affair Recovery;  the DSM 5; Strength-Based Leadership; Ethical Dilemmas in End of Life Care; and more.

    Description:

    Pediatric Grand Rounds are a weekly conference series designed for pediatricians, trainees, and others who are interested in the health care of children. The goal is to provide continuing education on the latest scholarly and research information in pediatrics in order to improve the health care of children in our communities and across our State. It takes place (with some exceptions) on Thursday mornings at 8 am in the main auditorium at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing.

  • Physician Immunization Tools and Training

    Description:

    Michigan State University Extension and the Michigan Department of Community Health have joined together to develop tools and training to help raise Michigan's immunization rate and promote better health among all citizens. The Physician Peer Education Project on Immunization (PPEPI) has been vital to the education of members of the medical field. The PPEPI program travels throughout the state of Michigan giving immunization updates to practicing physicians and their staff at Grand Rounds, conferences, and medical staff meetings. Lectures include various topics like Pediatric Immunizations, Adolescent Immunizations, Adult Immunizations, Vaccines for Women’s Health, Influenza Vaccine, Family Medicine Immunization Update, Immunizations for Health Care Personnel, and Varicella (chicken pox) Vaccine.

  • Psychological Clinic Therapy and Assessment Services

    The MSU Psychological Clinic is located in the Psychology Building on the campus of MSU.

    Description:

    The MSU Psychological Clinic is staffed by clinicians enrolled in the MSU Clinical Psychology doctoral program and by some MSU Clinical Psychology faculty. All clinicians are individually supervised by experienced Ph.D. psychologists from the University faculty and the Greater Lansing community. The Clinic provides a wide range of services to the general public. Fee for services at the Clinic is set on an income-adjusted basis. Services include:

    • Individual child psychotherapy
    • Individual child play-therapy
    • Adolescent psychotherapy
    • Individual adult psychotherapy
    • Family therapy
    • Couples therapy
