  • Mid-Michigan Health Impact Assessment Toolkit

    Description:

    Health Impact Assessment is defined as a combination of procedures, methods, and tools by which a policy, program, or project may be judged as to its potential effects on the health of a population, and the distribution of those effects within the population. HIA identifies appropriate actions to manage those effects.  The HIA Toolkit helps support the HIA process by providing free access to environmental and health data to planners, decision makers, and the public; mapping and visualization applications; and assessment of impacts that will showcase how to integrate an assessment of public health impacts within a greater, dynamic movement towards sustainability in our region.

    Description:

    Rural Health Grand Rounds are educational offerings provided to rural healthcare settings and providers as part of the mission of the Michigan Center for Rural Health (MCRH). The following Grand Rounds are offered: EMS; Geriatric; Nursing; Oral Health; Pharmacy; Psychiatry; Social Work; Legal; and special topics.  Several topics offer continuing education credits.

    Signing Online offers a series of four ASL (American Sign Language) courses that will give you the basic skills to become fluent in ASL. In ASL, the hands communicate by forming signs, which have meaning just like spoken words in English. ASL also means learning how to express yourself using your eyes, face and movements and body movements.  The course also provides valuable information and insights for communicating with deaf and hearing impaired individuals. Healthcare professionals will benefit from learning the basics of ASL.
