  • Agriculture for Tomorrow Conference (Escanaba, MI) (March 2018)

  • Fall Cover Crop Field Day (November 2017)

    Description:

    Join a group of MSU faculty and specialists, farmers and agricultural professionals for a tour of cover crop research and demonstration fields at the W.K. Kellogg Farm. A wide variety of cover crop entry points will be showcased, including inter-seeded into corn, after wheat, after corn silage, and in rotational pasture systems. Cover crops are being evaluated for both soil health benefits, as well as for livestock feed.

  • Farmers Day: Branch County (February 2018)

    Description:

    The Branch County Farmers’ Day is a collaboration between MSU Extension and the Branch County Agri-Business Council. Educational sessions will be held in the morning (10:00-11:30) and afternoon (1:30-3:00), and vendors’ booths will be open all day. Lunch will be served at noon with Bruce and Jennifer Lewis of Pleasant View Dairy Farm as lunch speakers talking about their recent trip to New Zealand on a Farm Bureau tour. Registration is at the door; cost is $3.00 which includes lunch and the always-popular MSU Dairy ice cream.  Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) exams will be given from 9:30 am-3:00 pm.

  • Field Crops Webinar Series (February, March 2018)

    Description:

    This series of six online programs addresses field crop production and pest management. Participants will learn how to enhance their corn, soybean, small grain and forage production systems in the coming season, and have an opportunity to ask questions of MSU agriculture experts. These live webinar programs can be viewed independently online. Registration is $20.00 for the full series of six webinars or $5.00 per individual webinar session. One MDARD Pesticide Recertification Credit will be available through each event for application to one of the following categories: Private Core, Commercial Core, or Field Crops.

  • Southeast Michigan Vegetable Meeting (February 2018)
