    Description:

    The abuse of and addiction to opioids such as heroin, morphine, and prescription pain relievers is a significant and serious issue that continues to affect the health, social, and economic welfare of all individuals and families across the U.S. In this workshop, you will learn about the importance of an appropriate and comprehensive diagnosis to determine treatment interventions. In addition, you will learn about how pain management, prevention, education, community involvement, family history and trauma experiences impact the client’s ability to participate in their personalized recovery program. Level of care and determination of medication interventions will be addressed.

    Description:

    MSU Extension, in affiliation with the Planning & Zoning Center at MSU, is hosting a workshop that provides an opportunity for local government officials to learn about options in prohibiting or accepting and regulating medical marijuana dispensaries, growing facilities, processing, product testing, and transport facilities. The workshop will cover:

    • The Overall Regulatory Framework.
    • Introduction to the new Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act.
    • Applications to Planning and Zoning.
    • Enforcement Issues.
    • State Authority on the Topic.
    • Options for how to Proceed.
