Onsite Training for Labor Unions: Arbitration Workshop
Michigan State University's Labor Employment & Workplace Education (LEWE), as part of the School of Human Resources and Labor Relations, brings together University faculty and Union leadership to provide education and training for union leaders and members. LEWE staff offers workshops on site at your workplace. Arbitration covers: Brief review of grievance procedure; Selection of cases for arbitration; Seven tests of just cause; Selection of an arbitration; Preparation for the hearing; Sample cases. Longer programs will look at mock arbitration hearing conducted by an arbitrator. Length of the program is from 8 to 24 hours. Basic and advanced options are available.
