Innovations in Collaborative Modeling: Participatory Modeling Field School (August 2019)

Description:

The Participatory Modeling Field School features three days of hands-on workshops on qualitative, semi-quantitative, and quantitative participatory modeling (PM) methods. Sessions are facilitated by faculty and community partners who are renowned in their fields and who currently work on PM initiatives in Flint and Detroit.

Come with your laptop and learn how to use various PM techniques and how they can help you in the representation of complex problems and in understanding what actions can be taken toward their resolution.

Wayne State University, David Adamany Undergraduate Library, 5150 Anthony Wayne, Detroit, MI 48202.  Field trips will take place in Detroit and Flint.

  • Faculty and students interested in learning about participatory modeling and engagement techniques, systems thinking, and how they can be used to address complex problems
  • Community members interested in learning how to more effectively address complex community problems using systems thinking and participatory modeling
