Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD (July 2019)

This workshop will provide participants with knowledge and skills to implement cognitive processing therapy (CPT), an evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy for post traumatic stress disorder(PTSD). CPT has been endorsed by the Institute of Medicine as a first-line treatment for PTSD and related disorders with individuals who have experienced all types of trauma, including sexual assault, accidents, natural disasters, and combat. You will learn about the symptoms and theory underlying CPT. You will also gain knowledge and skills required to implement CPT with special populations. This workshop will include a didactic presentation, role plays, and videos to ensure the participants understand the theory, research, and session-by-session information needed to conduct CPT.
