The Learning and Assessment Center offers Basic Life Support courses (also known as “CPR”). Participants will receive instruction and skill training in:
- CPR for adult, child and infant victims
- Use of a barrier device, bag mask devices, and oxygen to ventilate a victim
- Use of an AED
- Management/relief of foreign body obstructions in responsive and unresponsive victims
These courses are offered to individuals and groups. They may be taught at the Learning Assessment Center or on-site. Successful demonstration of CPR skills and completion of a written exam with a score of at least 84% is required.

MSU's Division of Occupational & Environmental Medicine partners with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to handle approximately 15,000-20,000 reports of occupational disease each year through several initiatives, services, and research projects. The website offers information, resources, reports, and newsletters.

Michigan State University's Labor Employment & Workplace Education (LEWE), as part of the School of Human Resources and Labor Relations, brings together University faculty and Union leadership to provide education and training for union leaders and members. LEWE staff offers workshops on site at your workplace. Health and Safety covers: Basic OSHA rights; Health and safety committees; Union response to behavior-based safety. Length of the program is from 3 to 20 hours. Program may cover technical topics based on local request.
