  • Integrating Behavioral Health into Primary Care: Advocating for Change (April 2019)

    Description:

    The purpose of this event is to educate students, community members, and professionals on the importance of integrated care, as well as learning to advocate for behavioral health codes to be turned on. This will be achieved through a panel of at least three speakers who are familiar with the field of integrated care. Following the panel, the HEALS scholars will teach attendees ways to advocate for behavioral health codes and participants will have the opportunity to write a letter or email to their respective representative.

  • MSU HealthTeam and Clinical Services

    Description:

    MSU's HealthTeam provides multiple primary and specialty health care services to the general public at clinics throughout the Lansing area. The HealthTeam is comprised of approximately 200 physicians and nurse practitioners from 14 clinical departments as well as many allied health professionals affiliated with MSU's Colleges of Human Medicine, Nursing, and Osteopathic Medicine. The largest clinic, which is located on the MSU campus, is the Clinical Center, which also provides pharmacy, radiology, and laboratory services.

  • Osteopathic Medicine Summer Symposium (June 2019)

    Description:

    This symposium covers many clinical topics and is approved by the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine for 16 credits of AOA Category 1-A.

  • Physician Immunization Tools and Training

    Location:

    MSU Extension, 240 Agriculture Hall, East Lansing, MI, 48824.

    Description:

    Michigan State University Extension and the Michigan Department of Community Health have joined together to develop tools and training to help raise Michigan's immunization rate and promote better health among all citizens. The Physician Peer Education Project on Immunization (PPEPI) has been vital to the education of members of the medical field. The PPEPI program travels throughout the state of Michigan giving immunization updates to practicing physicians and their staff at Grand Rounds, conferences, and medical staff meetings. Lectures include various topics like Pediatric Immunizations, Adolescent Immunizations, Adult Immunizations, Vaccines for Women’s Health, Influenza Vaccine, Family Medicine Immunization Update, Immunizations for Health Care Personnel, and Varicella (chicken pox) Vaccine.

  • Principles of Manual Medicine Course (May, December 2019)

    Description:

    Principles of Manual Medicine is a combination of didactic, lectures and “hands-on” experience sufficient to understand the principles involved in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders amenable to manual medicine methods. Emphasis will be placed on the integration of manual medicine into total health care.

  • Radiology's Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

    East Lansing, MI

    Description:

    MSU's Department of Radiology recently installed one of the nation's most powerful full-body MRI machines. This 17-ton magnet creates a magnetic field of 3 tesla and provides superior image quality. The MRI diagnostic technique greatly enhances MSU's research and clinical capabilities.
