    MSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine offers continuing medical education courses, frequently held at the East Lansing Marriott hotel. The manual medicine series, open to licensed D.O.s, M.D.s, P.T.s, and D.D.S.s, is approved for AOA and AMA Category I credit. Courses include such topics as: Principles of Manual Medicine; Craniosacral Technique; Direct Action Thrust Manipulative Technique; Exercise; Functional Technique; Muscle Energy; Extremities, and Myofascial Release.

  • Manual Medicine CD-ROMs

    Description:

    MSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSU-COM) has developed CD-ROMs for health care professionals interested in manual medicine. Utilizing state-of-the-art computer visualization techniques, the CD-ROMs provide interactive simulations, animation, video, audio, and color graphics. They help health professionals review, master, and retain techniques used for diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal dysfunction in the cervical, lumbar, thoracic spine, rib cage, and pelvis. The CD-ROMs are user-friendly, requiring only basic computer surfing skills.

    Description:

    Pediatric Grand Rounds are a weekly conference series designed for pediatricians, trainees, and others who are interested in the health care of children. The goal is to provide continuing education on the latest scholarly and research information in pediatrics in order to improve the health care of children in our communities and across our State. It takes place (with some exceptions) on Thursday mornings at 8 am in the main auditorium at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing.

    Description:

    Pediatric Subspecialty Conferences are a weekly case conference series designed for pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, trainees, and others who are interested in the health care of children. The goal is to provide continuing education in a case presentation format to enhance the care we provide to children with complex medical problems and clinical presentations. It takes place on Thursday mornings at 9:15 a.m. in the Sparrow Regional Neonatal ICU Conference Room (5th floor). This conference series has a rotating schedule with Journal Club, which reviews current research pertinent to the care of our pediatric patients, and cases from the Pediatric Ward, the Pediatric ICU, the Neonatal ICU, and our Pediatric Subspecialty Clinics.

  • Principles of Manual Medicine Video

    Description:

    MSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine has developed a multi-volume video series that provides a comprehensive presentation of the basic principles and concepts of manual medicine. Each volume contains over two hours of material intended to equip the medical practitioner with skills to diagnose, treat, and restore maximal pain-free movement of the musculoskeletal system using muscle energy and high velocity thrust techniques. Topics include: Concepts & Principles; Cervical Spine; Lumbar Spine; Thoracic Spine; Rib Cage; Pelvis; and Extremities.
