  • Artisan Hands-On Basic Cheese Making Workshop (June 2019)

    Description:

    Participants will learn about milk quality, ingredients, processes for making a variety of cheeses, techniques and requirements for aging cheese and planning to establish a farmstead or artisan cheese business. The heart of the workshop is the hands-on opportunity for participants to make a number of cheeses, that may include fresh lactic, Italian, Alpine, Dutch and American varieties from goat and cow milk. A cheese tasting, featuring locally produced cheeses, takes place Thursday evening.

  • CIBERweb: Center for International Business and Research

    Description:

    The Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBERs) were created by Congress under the Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988 to increase and promote the nation's capacity for international understanding and competitiveness.  The CIBER network links the manpower and technological needs of the United States business community with the international education, language training, and research capacities of universities across the country.  The 17 CIBERs serve as regional and national resources to business people, students, and teachers at all levels.

    Description:

    Creating and sustaining high-quality communities requires responsible land use policies and thoughtful public engagement. Build your confidence in addressing the hot button land use issues by learning and practicing a range of effective engagement tools at this year's Citizen Planner Advanced Academy. This year's program includes special guests, a walking tour, new engagement tools and our always popular Annual Case Law and Legislative Update.

    Master Citizen Planners will earn six (6) educational credits; the annual requirement.
    You are a Master Citizen Planner if you have completed the Citizen Planner course, taken the Master Citizen Planner Exam, completed a capstone presentation, and received a Master Citizen Planner certificate.

    Description:

    The MSU Farmer Field School is comprised of intensive one and two day hands-on workshops. These are tailored to deliver in-depth, practical information built upon the foundational work of the MSU Organic Farmer Training Program and the wealth of knowledge in Michigan’s farming community.  The 2019 topics include: Forcing bulbs, flowers and branches for early spring flower sales; weeds and cultivation for lean farm production; Lansing farm tours; Grand Rapids farm tours; Build a greens dryer and bubbler; farmer brain trust; food security roundtable; and Expo of Small Farm Innovation.

  • Master of Science in Management, Strategy and Leadership Program (Online)

    This online master of science program is built on the latest thinking in management, strategy and leadership. The curriculum incorporates useful and practical knowledge balanced across key components of leadership excellence: human resource management and development, team and organizational leadership, and strategic management. This program was designed by top management researchers from the AACSB-accredited Broad College of Business who are dedicated to challenging students to develop forward-thinking solutions to some of the most important issues impacting organizations.   • Michigan Cottage Food Law Online Program

    This is an online training program for Michigan Cottage FoodJelly Jars Law Food Safety certification. The Michigan Cottage Food Law allows Michigan residents to manufacture and store particular foods in an unlicensed kitchen, such as a residential home. Through this program participants will learn about the Cottage food law and other principles you can use to provide safe products. Cottage Food Law Food Safety training educates on preparing and selling foods under the Cottage Food Law, producing a safe food product, production, packaging and labeling, storing and transporting.

  • Michigan Cottage Food Law Online Training

    Description:

    This is an online training program for Michigan Cottage Law Food Safety certification.   • Michigan Export Growth Program Pro Bono Services (Lansing, MI)

    Description:

    The Michigan Export Growth Program involves faculty, staff, and students who provide a few hours of free service to local businesses to assist them in taking the best possible advantage of opportunities in the global marketplace. Each year, IBC offers this service to a select number of local firms based on a match of the center’s expertise, the needs of the firms, and the opportunities that exist.

  • New Media Drivers License Training Program

    This course meets twice on campus in East Lansing, MI, with the remainder of the program online.  Private New Media Training for businesses is also available.

    Description:

    This course is a new wave in education in which the student or small business team is fully engaged and learning through guided experience. After participants leave the New Media Driver's License® Seminars, they will have a strong, professional and optimized online presence.  The participant will use digital marketing, develop content for blogs, write digital public relations (PR), master social media sites like Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and YouTube, build community with customers, practice search engine optimization and search engine marketing, and understand how Google and Yahoo! search rankings impact the business bottom line.
