    Description:

    MSU's Department of Radiology offers digital mammography services. Mammography is an x-ray examination of the breast tissue. The image produced by this process is called a mammogram. Although mammography does involve a small amount of radiation, it can help detect problems within breast tissue long before they can be felt. Mammography is the most sensitive method for the detection of breast cancer.

  • Physician Immunization Tools and Training

    MSU Extension, 240 Agriculture Hall, East Lansing, MI, 48824.

    Description:

    Michigan State University Extension and the Michigan Department of Community Health have joined together to develop tools and training to help raise Michigan's immunization rate and promote better health among all citizens. The Physician Peer Education Project on Immunization (PPEPI) has been vital to the education of members of the medical field. The PPEPI program travels throughout the state of Michigan giving immunization updates to practicing physicians and their staff at Grand Rounds, conferences, and medical staff meetings. Lectures include various topics like Pediatric Immunizations, Adolescent Immunizations, Adult Immunizations, Vaccines for Women’s Health, Influenza Vaccine, Family Medicine Immunization Update, Immunizations for Health Care Personnel, and Varicella (chicken pox) Vaccine.
