    Description:

    The Innovate Michigan! Summit will feature presentations on innovative economic development tools, models, programs, and policies from around the state. Following the Summit, participants are invited to stroll the MIC Expo and network at the evening reception.

  • Institute for Arts & Creativity at the Wharton Center

    Description:

    The Institute for Arts & Creativity at the Wharton Center provides meaningful, participatory lifelong learning programs both at Wharton Center and throughout the state for audiences of all ages. The Institute also serves a role in helping Wharton Center serve as an industry leader and advocate to help bolster the cultural and economic vitality of the community and the state; present a diverse selection of performing arts experiences with world-class artists and newly commissioned works; advance the arts by presenting Michigan’s finest arts organizations; and strive to ensure that the diversity of our community is reflected on our stage and in our audience.

  • MSU Cultural Engagement Council for the Promotion of Arts and Cultural Resources

    Description:

    MSU's Cultural Engagement Council (CEC), the organizing body behind the Year of Arts and Culture, is composed of leaders of allied cultural units, outreach, and student life. The CEC strives to increase the visibility of campus cultural resources and facilitate expanded MSU cultural engagement among our students and across Michigan, nationally, and internationally. The CEC seeks to build among students and the community a common understanding of the importance of culture through new and innovative partnerships and collaborations; and to enhance teaching and research in all aspects of the study of culture.

  • Summer Solstice Jazz Festival (June 2019)

    Description:

    The Summer Solstice Jazz Festival (SSJF) is a celebration of jazz music featuring nationally recognized and regional jazz artists, as well as youth and community education for residents and visitors of East Lansing. The SSJF salutes jazz, one of the truly American art forms, and offers this free two-day event in a lively outdoor setting.
