    Description:

    The Michigan State University Extension cover crops team will be hosting a series of informational Cover Crop Field Walks in 2018 looking at different cover crop species and how they work in different cropping systems. This is an opportunity for producers and agricultural professionals to visit cover crop field sites in various locations throughout Michigan with MSU Extension educators to observe and discuss cover crop use, management, benefits and challenges.

  • Upper Peninsula Twilight Forage Tour (June 2018)

    Description:

    This free event will highlight current research trials on forage performance, annual clovers, cover crop and reduced-lignin alfalfa, peas and oats. It will conclude with a presentation from third-generation farmer and forage expert Mike Buis on integrating cover crops with livestock operations, including using forage for grazing between cash crop growing seasons. Light refreshments are included.
