    The Accessible Learning Conference explores and celebrates accessible content, course, and website design. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to a full day featuring keynote speakers, presentations from MSU community members, and opportunities for networking at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center.

  • Art History and Visual Culture Symposium (November 2017)

    Description:

    The Art History & Visual Culture Symposium recognizes the scholarly achievement of emerging undergraduate students studying Art History & Visual Culture in the Department of Art, Art History, and Design at Michigan State University. The symposium will feature independent research projects presented by students nearing the end of their degree program.

    The 2017 keynote speaker is Dr. Joanna Grabski. Her research addresses the intersection of urbanism and visual culture in Senegal’s capital city of Dakar. Grabski is the Director of the School of Art at Arizona State University, and recently published Art World City: The Creative Economy of Artists and Urban Life in Dakar.

  • Global Digital Humanities Symposium (March 2018)

    Description:

    The 2018 Symposium will address how the interdisciplinary practices of digital humanities can relate to global, indigenous, and/or underrepresented groups and topics.

  • New Media Drivers License Training Program

    Location:

    This course meets twice on campus in East Lansing, MI, with the remainder of the program online.  Private New Media Training for businesses is also available.

    Description:

    This course is a new wave in education in which the student or small business team is fully engaged and learning through guided experience. After participants leave the New Media Driver's License® Seminars, they will have a strong, professional and optimized online presence.  The participant will use digital marketing, develop content for blogs, write digital public relations (PR), master social media sites like Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and YouTube, build community with customers, practice search engine optimization and search engine marketing, and understand how Google and Yahoo! search rankings impact the business bottom line.

  • Quello Center Lecture: Vint Cerf (May 2018)

    Description:

    The James and Mary Quello Center is focused on stimulating and informing debate on media, communication and information policy for our digital age.  Vint Cerf is internationally recognized as “an Internet pioneer” – one of the “fathers of the Internet” – in light of his work with Bob Kahn in co-inventing Internet protocol (TCP/IP). He will be in East Lansing, Michigan, giving a Quello Lecture in celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the Quello Center.

    This lecture series offers students, faculty, staff and the Greater Lansing community the opportunity to grapple with important issues or questions in a trans-disciplinary format. The faculty panel will bring their unique research, teaching and writing experiences from a wide range of disciplines to explore contemporary and historical issues. Refreshments are provided.
