This interactive session will address the wellness concerns of working caregivers, and their elder loved ones. The presentation will explore the caregivers’ need for healthy living and resources to balance their work, life and caregiving responsibilities. Burnout and failing health are common for working caregivers. Participants will learn how to reduce stress, enhance relationships and manage their roles at work, life and caregiving. Community resources will be shared to provide opportunities for caregiver support and elder services.

In this workshop, you will discuss the current status of Medicare and Medicaid for the aging population. In addition, you will learn about the current changes in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and how they affect care for our aging consumers, including access to care and challenges in procuring direct care providers. You will also learn strategies for advocating for care and coverage for your clientele. This workshop will utilize large group discussion and visual displays for learning.
