  • Brand Protection Strategy Summit (October 2018)

    The 2018 Brand Protection Strategy Summit will focus on three main themes and a collaborative space for brand owners, law enforcement, and academia to strategize about the issues and their solutions. Through interactive panels, roundtable sessions, and an evening reception, you will have the opportunity to share, learn and network with one another, as well as from world-renowned scholars and globally-recognized industry and law enforcement leaders. In addition, you will hear from select keynote speakers and other experts during the Summit, including the recipient of the Center’s Annual Brand Protection Hero Award.

  • Food Fraud Audit Guide: Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) (August, September 2018)

    Description:

    The Food Fraud MOOCs are outreach programs that include a two-week program with readings, a 2-hour lecture, and then a weekly assessment quiz. The objective of the Food Fraud MOOCs is to provide students with an insight into the emerging corporate need of Food Fraud prevention and specific topics. The Food Fraud Audit Guide MOOC  will provide participants with insight on meeting the regulatory compliance requirements the likes of GFSI, FSMA, ISO, Sarbanes‐Oxley and other Food Fraud regulations and industry standards. Those key requirements are: (1) conduct an incident review, (2) conduct a Food Fraud Vulnerability Assessment (FFVA), (3) implement a Food Fraud Prevention Strategy (FFPS), and (4) demonstrate management commitment. There is a $100 fee for the pending Certificate of Completion.

    The MOOC is structured as two live webinar sessions. While registered students can view these online after 
    presentation, it is highly recommended that they be “attended” live to afford students the opportunity to pose questions to the instructors. Students will be given reading assignments and quizzes to demonstrate their understanding and application of presented materials and concepts. Students that successful complete the MOOC can receive a Certificate of Completion.



     

  • Food Fraud Overview: Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) (October/November 2018)

    Description:

    This course starts with an introduction to MOOCs and Food Fraud in general. Additional content includes: global laws and regulations which are both governmental- and industry-led, a review of the fraudsters and fraud events, an introduction to criminology theory and methods to assess the fraud opportunity, systems and techniques to both identify efficient countermeasures and to reduce specific vulnerabilities, and then next steps for governments or companies. For students who successfully complete the course and assessment a certificate of completion is offered.

  • Risk Assessment Strategies for Counterfeit Products (Webinar)

    Participation in this recorded webinar will give the attendee why risk assessments are useful for brand protection programs and how to take a proactive approach to it.  The webinar will utilize interactive learning methods, including group chat, case studies and group exercises. Day One will give an overview of why companies need a risk assessment program and what is the typical approach to brand protection through interactive questions and exercises.  Day Two will give an overview of a proactive approach to product risk management and how to move from a reactive to a proactive brand protection program through case studies and exercises. Topics include: Overview of Brand Protection, Risk Assessment: Where to Start, Risk Assessment Tool & Questionnaire, Advanced Risk Assessment Case Study.  Part I- 1 hours 36 minutes.  Part II- 1 hour 46 minutes
