    Description:

    Co-Integrate is a seminar series designed to support internal networking among colleagues in the College of Natural Science, College of Education, and K-12 school partners interested in the teaching and learning of mathematics in K-16 settings.  This monthly series will feature talks by MSU faculty and graduate students who are working on projects to improve math teaching and learning at MSU and in Michigan more broadly.

  • Connected Mathematics Leadership, Coaching, and Mentoring Workshop (June 2018)

    Description:

    The workshop will focus on developing approaches and refining plans to deepen teachers’ mathematical content and pedagogical knowledge for teaching beyond initial unit training.

  • Connected Mathematics Project: Meeting the Needs of Special Populations Workshop (June 2018)

    Description:

    This workshop is designed around sharing ideas and experiences to help us learn from each other. The workshop leaders will guide you through what it’s like to teach, experience, and learn in a CMP classroom. We encourage those who work with special populations to attend in teams.

  • Getting to Know Connected Mathematics Project (CMP) Workshops (June 2018)

    Description:

    Join a Grade 6, Grade 7 or Grade 8 group for an in-depth discussion on mathematics and the pedagogy in CMP3. You will experience the Standards for Mathematical Practice and discuss the correlations to the CCSS during the workshops. There will be an opportunity to discuss implementation and management strategies for CMP3 with experienced CMP teachers and authors and to share ideas with colleagues from across the country. A special CMP carnival, complete with food and prizes will be offered mid-week.

    During the academic year the Program in Mathematics Education sponsors a Mathematics Education Colloquium Series.   • National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory

    Description:

    MSU's National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) is a national user facility devoted to basic research in nuclear science as well as accelerator and instrumentation research and development. Historically, the NSCL has played a key role in the scientific and technical education of a large number of young scientists and engineers in undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral programs. The NSCL plays an important role in pre-college and community education with programs such as a summer intern program for middle and high school teachers and guided tours of the facility to interested groups. The NSCL also has a number of research activities including research of nuclear structure and reactions; nuclear astrophysics; the Rare Isotope Accelerator (RIA) Project; and accelerator design and beam physics.
